Snow White Ballet Set Pieces

This is the table to be used for by the Seven Dwarfs for the San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet production of Snow White. The table is finished but... nowI have to sand and paint it! Doh!  This week I'll also have to start building the evil queen's throne and a couple of platforms. Things are busy here at Rancho Ramirez!

Mini-Mural Project Completed

I've finally finished the mini-mural for San Anto Cultural Art! In a couple of weeks, they'll auction the murals from all the participating artists, after which the murals will be permanently applied to the wall of it's new home. Below are photos of the process from start to finish.

A challenging task awaits.

The fun begins.

Making progress.

Almost done.

Finished!

I'm a happy camper!

Mini-Mural Project

I submitted several sketches for the San Anto Cultural Arts Mini-Mural Mural Project. And the winner is.... the Mil Mascaras postage stamp! The mural will measure 10'x10' and it'll be painted over the course of the next few weeks. It's a pretty neat idea because the painting will be done on a type of fabric that will be permanently placed on a wall upon the mural's completion. Today I order the paints and then-it's fun time!

Zapata W.I.P.

Here's a better look at this illustration. This one is an alternative history story about Emiliano Zapata. I made a few changes on page one. No changes on the cover art. I'm pretty happy with the results for it. I'm still working out the storyline and sketching out the illustrations for it. The cover art definitely fuels my imagination.

Zombie Fun!

Last month my wife and I made up a friend for a zombie walk held in downtown San Antonio. It was a gory and very, very fun project! I miss Halloween.

BBQ Sign

On a very rare occasion I do some lettering much as I've been doing since I was in high school where I took the best class ever: Commercial art. I've always utilized what I learned there over the years and recently I made a sign for a friend. She competes in BBQ competitions. I never knew there was such a thing and they're always going on somewhere! That's the way it should be.
